Talking Tuesday feedback

Hi,

Patrick and I would like to thank those who attended our talk on Tuesday. We had lots of fun and hope you found it interesting, despite the slightly experimental format. Next time, we will make sure we’ll have some time after the talk to sit together and chat.

We would be very grateful if you could give us some feedback, so we can make the next one even better:

  • Did you like the format?
  • What did you like/not like?
  • Location and time ok?
  • Any other suggestions?

Note: I got quite a few business-related questions after the talk, and I can understand that these are important to you. We are planning a full careers day after Easter that will cover all these things (how to apply for a job, how to negotiate a fair salary, setting up your own business, securing work, writing contracts, invoicing, what to charge, how to get paid, and lots and lots more).

Anyway, we are looking forward to your feedback!

Talking Tuesday: VALUE

Hi all,

Patrick and I had the idea of running a series of talks on issues around graphic design. They will always happen on a Tuesday, hence Talking Tuesday ;-) , and will be run by year 3 tutors and students who want to help us.

The series:

  1. VALUE | Patrick & Max | Tuesday, 9 December, 6.30pm, computer room
  2. TIME | after Christmas, to be announced
  3. POWER | after Christmas, to be announced

Here are some sneak-peak extracts from the first talk, VALUE:

  • how to attach value to graphic design
  • short term vs. long term value vs. other values
  • how to work for money
  • how to burn a million quid
  • how to work for other random things, some much better than money
  • decision-making helper: should I take on that job/client?
  • and much, much more!

This first talk starts half-way through the logo design session – we thought by 6.30 you are sufficiently tired to be a willing audience ;-)
